Travel Update - Boston 4/25/23
God is miraculously taking care of me! I'm still not quite sure why I'm here, but just going where I'm led.
It was the last time Rhonda, John, and I would meet and I heard the Lord say, “Go to a church in Boston.”
I had spent the last year and a half training these two pastors in how to walk people through deliverance, healing soul/spirit hurts, breaking generational curses, and transforming ungodly beliefs into godly beliefs. It was time to hand everything over to Rhonda and John, as their new ministry had just opened up to the public. It was time for me to move on to my next assignment…writing and traveling.
I had planned on heading toward Niagara Falls to start off the 7 month camping trip and had to leave the next day. However, the new tent my amazing friend, Heidi, had ordered for me still had not arrived. So, I wasn’t sure what the plan was, but knew God had one.
I don’t believe I was praying about this at the time, or that it was even on my mind, but toward the end of our meeting, I looked at Rhonda and said, “I think I’m supposed to go to a church in Boston.” I had no idea which one. I just heard, “Go to a church in Boston.”
So, I decided to go. Why not? There was no real plan. Just God’s timeline and God’s direction. There was no real money either, but God always provides just what I need and at the very last moment.
Before I left the meeting, a beautiful soul, who was attending, handed me $100. I could NOT take this. I have no doubt she needed it more than I do. As I was declining her sweet, and hugely generous gift, I heard the Lord say, “You will NOT refuse this and deny her of the blessings I have in store for her.”
“Yes, sir!!”
I took the gift and was reminded of the story of the widow who tithed her last two pennies. It was such a huge gift and oh, how I prayed for bountiful blessings over her for giving.
Since I had no idea what church I was supposed to go to, I searched online to see if anything would grab me. What I saw certainly did, but it wasn’t a church. I was reminded that SatanCon is happening in Boston this weekend. Yes, that’s a thing.
Was I supposed to go and pray over the city? I don’t know.
The next day, I packed all my stuff and headed to the gym for a workout and shower. On the way, I was asking the Lord what church I was supposed to go to and heard, “Go to the first church you see with a white steeple.” I asked, “Lord, is that You?” and heard, “No, I will show you where I want you to go.”
Within just a few minutes, Rhonda texted me with a picture of a church and said, “I believe as I was praying the Lord gave me a vision of the church. It is brick/stone, with a large round stained glass window facing the road (?) and a spire/steeple on its right, so on your left as you face it. My Spirit stirred when I saw this.
It is the First Baptist Church of Boston. 110 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA...
This is new to me, so I am praying this is truly from the Lord.”
“Okay, I guess that’s where I’m heading.” I thought.
The day of the journey was filled with hidden treasures placed by God along the path. I stopped for lunch to say “goodbye” to a friend and, as we were sitting there, he tells me to turn around and look.
On the trivia screen was one, lone player named, “Oznog.” This was the 1 week anniversary of my dog, Gonzo, passing and here was the backward version of his name displayed beautifully above our heads. What a blessing to see!! I sure do miss my Good Gonzo!
My friend and I departed and I headed toward Boston and, what do you know? Rainbows! I saw so many rainbows, a symbol of God’s covenant with us, along the way. One was even a gloriously clear, FULL rainbow. I felt covered and protected.
The church was closed, when I arrived, and I had a Zoom meeting to attend. After the meeting, I wandered around town and ultimately ended up stopping at a restaurant to write.
Around 11pm, I had JUST written a prayer asking God, where I was supposed to stay. Within minutes, a girl walked into the restaurant needing to charge her phone. Apparently, her hotel room did not have a USB port, which is odd. I had an extra charging cube and gave it to her.
We began talking and she was asking about the book and what I was doing. I don’t think I have ever had a stranger ask me this, but she said, “Where are you staying, tonight?” I told her I didn’t know yet.
She looked at me pensively for a half-second, then plunked a $100 bill on my table and said she wanted me to be able to stay somewhere nice. Especially, since I had given her my charging cube.
WOW! My God IS amazing and DOES provide everything I need. I was able to find a room for $102 and got to sleep in a bed…not a car. Life is good!
I’m still not sure why I’m here, or how long I’m supposed to be here, or if that’s the church to visit, but I am continuing to pray over the city, preemptive to what will descend on it this weekend.
