Facebook decided to break up with me (delete my account) because a “connected” Instagram account didn’t obey their rules. The Instagram account wasn’t mine—and also didn’t seem to actually exist.
They told me I had 180 days to contest the deletion… but gave no actual option to do so. Apparently, Facebook has the manpower to read your mind in order to figure out which ads to bombard you with, but not enough staff to reinstate your hacked account.
Totally believable. 🙄
I had tried to break up with Facebook on several occasions—only to have it stalk me, text me, message me, and guilt me with reminders about all the riveting pictures of sandwiches and fruity adult beverages I was missing out on.
Eventually I’d give in and go back… only to be censored. Every truth I posted would trigger the bots to chirp, “That’s anecdotal!” or simply, “That’s not true!”
Facebook knew how infuriating that was. It was meant to be. Just another part of the psyop we’ve all been living through for who knows how long? Well… Facebook probably knows how long.
Anyway—after about a minute of futily trying to get my page back, I realized:
This was a blessing in disguise.
Life Without the Algorithm
I decided to take a fairly aggressive break from all social media and the algorithms until August. I might have liked or forwarded something here and there, but let go of any pressure to perform or like or comment just to be held in bondage by the ever-changing algorithms..
And you know what?
Life became so much better when there was less of a screen in the way.
No pressure to post.
No pressure to respond.
No checking for dopamine notifications.
Instead—I got to connect with people (and a mountain lion 🦁) in person, write meaningful stories, discover more crazy truths, and forage OUTSIDE. Weeds? They’re not just weeds. They’re survival tools—provided by God Himself.
I’ve decided I like nature way more than screens.
But… I still have so many stories to tell.
So I’m back—but in a bit of a different way.
Still Laughing Without Fear of the Future
I’m hoping this Substack will become a little more structured, more beneficial, and more rooted in answers to the question I get all the time:
“Aren’t you afraid of… (fill in the blank)?”
The answer over the past five years has been:
No.
Here’s why:
Faith – in a God who writes me into some of the most unbelievable stories.
Fight – from training and experience that helps me anticipate scenarios before they happen.
Foraging – because if I run out of money, or have to reject the coming CBDC and MotB, I know God has filled the wilderness with provision.
Fitness – because when I’m strong physically, I feel stronger in every other area.
Fun – because if I can find joy and humor in even the darkest places, nothing can break me.
Coming Soon...
As we careen into the End Times, I want to truly help others Laugh Without Fear of the Future—and be equipped to stand.
So what’s coming?
Another near-death story with Jesus as the rescuer
“7 Challenges” to strengthen your storm-survival muscles
AI and End Time warnings—straight from the machine’s mouth
How the Mark of the Beast is being introduced
Hidden occult gods and witchcraft embedded in our culture we are commanded to avoid
Wilderness stories from 2023 that never got to be written
A few posts here and there on fitness, and foraging (anyone want to guest blog on these?)
…and humor—because laughter is resistance!
Above all else, faith will be the thread through it all.
And endurance.
We’re Called to Endure Until the End
Mark 13:13 and Matthew 10:22 – And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13 – But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Hebrews 10:36 – For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
James 1:12 – Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life.
Revelation 2:10 – Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Revelation 3:10 – Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial...
So let’s endure and persevere together.
We’re going to need community—real, human community.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (NKJV)
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Sneak Peeks into my book should resume in September.
Thank you for hanging in there with me.
I’m excited for what’s to come.
God is good.
He’s building an army.
Do you feel called?
